Aaron Johnston
This website is a communications tool from Aaron R Johnston, an attorney located in Frisco, Texas, used to provide cost-effective and efficient, limited legal services pertaining to Texas Law. Limited legal services are sometimes also termed as “unbundled” legal services. This means that I provide only a limited scope of legal services as requested and purchased by you. My relationship with you will not exceed the limited scope of work I have agreed to perform on your behalf. The Terms and Conditions published on this website dictate the extent of this relationship.
This is a completely virtual law practice. Ask for legal services and receive a fixed price quote to receive legal advice or other legal services from an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. I tell you upfront what it will cost. If you approve of the quoted price and agree to the Terms and Conditions stated in the limited legal services agreement, click “accept” on your user login page and within a short time you will have the ability to pay for and receive the requested legal services. If I am unable to provide all of the necessary services related to your request, I will provide you free of charge with a referral to another Texas attorney or to the State Bar of Texas’ Lawyer Referral Service. Unlike many non attorney based sites, services, and books, at Aaron Johnston, a licensed Texas attorney prepares your legal documents and is giving you advice.
Why Create An Online Law Practice?
In short, an online law practice provides my clients the ability to communicate and retain legal services efficiently online. It enables you, the client, to manage the direction and scope of the legal services you purchase.
Quality legal services should be available to all citizens regardless of their income levels. Many times clients are unable or unwilling to pay hundreds of dollars per billable hour to meet with an attorney in person when they have only general legal questions or need basic legal guidance. The number of pro se litigants has been rising and courts are increasingly faced with the challenges and strains this increase creates both legally and administratively on the court systems. Many pro se litigants exist because they cannot afford to retain an attorney. A 2003 American Bar Association’s Report of the Modest Means Task Force stated that one method by which attorneys can improve the fairness of the American legal system is to provide limited legal services “to people who cannot afford ‘full-service’ representation.” Handbook on Limited Scope Legal Assistance, A Report of the Modest Means Task Force, American Bar Association, Section of Litigation, 2003.
Without the high overhead costs of a physical law office, Aaron Johnston provides clients with limited legal counseling and assistance in civil matters, including the preparation of basic legal documents, such as Partnership and Operating Agreements for small businesses, Residential and Commercial Lease Agreements, Estate Planning materials, Estate Administration forms, and other contracts and agreements prepared in accordance with Texas Law. I will provide a quotation after discussing what services you are interested in, prior to engaging in any legal advice or preparing any documents.
The American Bar Association’s Call
“The highest leadership of the ABA knows we need a catalyst for lawyers to adapt and flourish in the new technology-driven economic order. The Internet presents us with unparalleled opportunities and powerful new tools to provide legal services. Innovative law firms and web-based companies (many run by lawyers) have already cast off - successfully - into these uncharted waters. They have set up web sites that go far beyond a list of partners, practice areas and a map to the law firm.”
According to the American Bar Association’s E-Lawyering Task Force, “[l]awyers… are exploring the new Internet landscape. These lawyers have the vision to see a wholly new market of un-met legal needs.”
A 2003 American Bar Association’s Report of the Modest Means Task Force stated that one method by which attorneys may improve the fairness of the American legal system is to provide limited legal services “to people who cannot afford ‘full-service’ representation.”
The Texas Bar Association and other state bars, including Maine, California, New Mexico and Maryland, support attorneys who provide “unbundled” legal services.
As detailed in the findings of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee for the Delivery of Legal Services: “The unmet legal needs of consumers are well documented and dramatic.”
